When it comes to keeping you and your loved ones safe, you know you can count on all of us here at Reno Kia. Whether it's a new or used Kia model, we'll make sure you know all the safety features available for your own peace of mind. But, unfortunately, sometimes we have to make announcements about safety because of a recall and this is one of those times.
If you drive a Kia Sorento SUV, or know someone who does, then please read on as this recall concerns you.
Specifically, the recall affects only Kia Sorento vehicles that are equipped with the 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive. If yours was produced between January 7th through March 12th of 2013, then your vehicle is at risk of the front right axle shaft fracturing or shattering.
If the axle does break, then your vehicle may roll if parked on a hill, or you may lose power to the wheels if you are driving as it happens, drastically increasing the chances of an accident happening. Fortunately, it's easy for you to get fixed.
If you receive a letter in the mail from Kia alerting you that your vehicle is subject to the recall, then that's where we come in. Call up our service center in Reno, NV and schedule an appointment for your Sorento. We'll get you in as quick as we can and get it fixed up completely free of charge, so you can get back to your day worry-free. Until then, keep an eye on your mailboxes and continue to drive safely!
