This year Kia is hard at work to bring everyone in the greater Reno area the best innovative features possible. If you are curious about how navigation can become more convenient in your new or used Kia vehicle, here at Tom Dolan's Reno Kia, we are excited to tell you about a few of the great features that will be coming available in the near future.

The Kia UVO infotainment system will soon be including several helpful Google features. The Send2Car feature allows drivers to use their mobile phone or computer to send travel destinations to their vehicle's navigation system. The Parking Minder feature enables a driver to locate their car by sending the vehicle's current location to their mobile device. Another feature called 911 Connect8, is based on safety. When a vehicle's airbag is deployed, this feature alerts emergency services immediately, unless the driver cancels the call within a 10-second period. Keep in mind, these are just a few of the great components that Kia plans to include.

In response to this new technology, the head of the connected car program and chief technology strategist for Kia Motors, Henry Bzeih explains, "The newest iteration of the UVO platform is a breakthrough as one of the industry's first mobile pure app-based telematics systems, and now with the Google solutions and APIs, we take the platform to yet another level of enhancement for the Kia customer. Due to the popularity and ease-of-use of Google Maps, owners can remain confident in the technology and information being delivered to them."1

Which models are going to include these features? The first will be the 2014 Kia Sorento expected to be available early this year. The second model to follow will be the 2014 Forte. To learn more about the features being added to the Kia UVO infotainment system, be sure to stop by and visit us at 9455 South Virginia St. Reno, NV 89511. We would be happy to set you us with a test drive to ensure that you are finding the right vehicle that satisfies all of your driving needs!
