Last month we welcomed the brand new 2014 Soul here at the Reno Kia showroom, and with a highly anticipated redesign our excitement was answered with yet another great version of the urban crossover vehicle.

Recently, seven hours south of us here in Reno, Nevada, down in Las Vegas, Kia unleashed a few lavishly decorated Soul's at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show.

In total there were five one-of-a-kind Kia Soul's on display in Vegas, with each having its own sound and style.

  • Amped Soul: The first Soul was modified by Popular Mechanics to be a moving and functioning amplifier, complete with massive JBL speakers and a portable stage.
  • Vans Warped Tour Soul: Popular Mechanics went to work again on this model, and in alliance with Galpin Auto Sports, created a homage to the Vans Warped Tour.  Speakers replace the back windows, and there is a grill that can be pulled out for tailgating.  The paint job, rims and hood ornament hit on the youthful expression that epitomizes the music tour the vehicle represents.
  • DJ Booth Soul:  RIDES Magazine worked on this model to create a fully functioning DJ setup on wheels, complete with everything one would need to bring the noise to a party.
  • Music Memorabilia Soul:  RIDES again worked on this version, which is a mini music hall of fame on wheels, paying homage to greats from all facets of the industry, from 50 Cent to Jimi Hendrix.
  • The Voice Soul: The NBC reality show inspired model allows for all the Karaoke fans out there to shine, with speakers, a microphone and the TV Shows app all connected in the back.

All in all, we would love to add one of these to our inventory of new Kia models, but they truly belong in a museum due to their artistic and unique customizations.  If our brand decides to display one here in Reno, Nevada we will have no complaints, hopefully it can be The Voice Soul so we can see who here really can sing the best.
